Weekend Recap/Monday Confessions..

We had a crazy busy weekend. Caleb and I got the privilege of photographing our friends Aaron & Erinns wedding up on the North Shore about 2 hours north of Duluth.
My Hus needs a haircut!


 Unfortunately that made for a 6 hour drive with our 1 month old infant who HATES his carseat.


Gorgeous wedding and a fun getaway! We stopped at the Rose Garden in Duluth, so beautiful.

As for my Monday confession..

I am afraid of commitment. I don't like buying new clothes, getting a new pet, signing a lease.. Or anything that really requires a commitment of me. For too many reasons to list.. It freaks me out.

There are few things that I Am passionately committed to and these are it-
I committed my life to Christ, to serve him always.
I committed my heart and faithfulness to my husband.

 And my most recent addition, I have committed my self to love and serve my child by hopefully meeting all his deepest needs.

I am a work in progress, but these are some of the places I've started.

April is almost over, I can hardly believe it. Time is FLYING by here. there is so much going on at the base and Caleb has been so busy. I have a handful of photos I want to share with you on the blog today and chat a little bit about how blessed we've been. a favoritve photo of mine of our family on vacation back when we first arrived.  Before we left God spoke to both Caleb and I about trusting and believing that this was going to be a time of blessing. September Recap

September flew by. We’ve been remodeling the upstairs unit and that seems to take up a lot of our time. But we’ve also kept busy with homeschooling, apple picking, apple sauce making, going for walks, visiting friends and we spent the last week with a cold and watching copious amounts of movies.  We also took a trip to a friends house who owns a dairy farm. Sissy loved all the baby cows. We learned about how the mama cows are cared for and got to pet babies. All the kids loved the change of scenery.  I’m looking forward to the apartment being done. It’s been hard to keep any sort of a schedule through it all but we’ve survived and even attempted to thrive😜. As the projects slow down we slowly seem to regain a new normal. The Other Side of The Fence.

I feel slightly uncomfortable writing this. I'm not entirely sure why. I guess writing about someone elses despair is not exactly easy. I want to write a little bit about what I've seen, and what its taught me in this short time here in Mexico. First I want to start with a quote from my book I'm reading, "Radical" by David Platt. "God blesses his people with extravagant grace so they might extend his extravagant glory to all peoples on earth." Read that a few times through. Sometimes I wonder why I was born in one of the most blessed countries in the world. I grew up in comfortable settings, always had food, shelter and was taught about Jesus from a fairly young age. I had my rough spots but nothing too terrible. For the first time ever, when reading that quote, I realized that by grace I was born in the United States. If you ask me its an extravagant amount of grace but thats just my opinion. What I do with that grace is my choice. God gave it ...
