The ugly and uglier..
Motherhood. This is a topic I plan to exbound on. Not tonight. For now I just want to share with you the delightful photos from my birthday.
Ok, lets be real there is not much to desire from these photos but you will surely laugh. You see, I have this obsession with stuffing my kids in cute clothes(that their lovely grandma gave them) and doing my best to take a gazillion photos in hopes that one turns out.
let me tell you that this time, literally 1 photo looked good. This one.
doesnt he look sweet? Ok so maybe there were a few like this that turned out ok but it just went down hill from here.
Contestant number 2:
Failed attempt at one of those adorable brotherly love moments. If you're thinking these arent too bad, dont be fooled...
This is our best group shot. Its not terrible, it will do. Axel looks like he is pooping, I am somehow smiling about this whole event and Helez looks traumatized.
I'm going to call this one the cake topper of the group shots. Caleb missed half my head, Axel is a wreck and Helez just wants this all to stop. I am nearly embarrassed that this on the internet but it is too funny not to share.
My all time favorite photo of the whole event was this one:
I have no words. I nearly died laughing when I first saw this photo.
Motherhood. Oh sweet Motherhood. I am a day older, probably not a whole lot wiser, I'm usually pretty tired and look a wreck but somehow these dysfunctional little humans still make my day worth living. My babes are fussy, They fight (well Axel fights Helez) and they smell retched sometimes but I love them.
Its easy to glamorize life on the internet. Facebook makes things look fabulous, instagram makes grey skies look sunny and blue and well sometimes we just need to be reminded that life isn't all Unicorns and rainbows.
If you're wondering how the rest of the day went you'd be happy to know that we survived. Caleb took us to lunch- we took turns passing crying Helez back and forth while the young couple next to us stared like we should be eating in the bathroom (haha). Helez had a blowout diaper towards the end of lunch when I then realized we forgot the diaper bag at home. Awesome. We ran home and spiffied up our house to have friends over which was actually a great success. WHAT A DAY.
I hope this made you laugh.
Happy 24th Birthday to me.
from my crazy home to yours,
Briana
