Weekend Away!



Caleb & I finally got to take a weekend away. Such a blessing. we were able to spend friday through monday just the 2 of us. It was actually our first getaway alone since we've been married! We spent the weekend doing some of our favorite activities like canoeing, target practice with calebs gun, taking walks in the woods & preparing yummy food over the fire! 
The 2nd day we were there Caleb chopped wood and I ran around and took pictures of all the beautiful sites.

I'm thankful we had the chance to get away. We needed a chance to relax and just spend some time just the 2 of us. We both have felt tired of life in general lately and truly felt treated by God to take a weekend to be rejuvenated. We also got the chance to take some fun maternity photos of my growing belly. I'm now 29 weeks! Its crazy how quick August 10th is going to come. I'll hopefully be sharing some of those photos soon!

So we are getting closer and closer to being settled at the new place, but lets be real.. we have so far to go. My main goal is to try and do dishes, laundry & keep us fed. Unpacking will come in due time. I have a handful of things i want to share with you so lets get to it! 1. I finally got Axels Cloth diapers! I bought them here.  They are bamboo flats & I am using bummis covers as of now! They are working pretty well. the flat is very basic. literally just a large piece of organic cotton/bamboo. I have tried 3 different ways to fold and not quite sure which i like best yet.  Trifold - Newspaper fold- Origami fold. I think I'm going to stick with Newspaper for now. April is almost over, I can hardly believe it. Time is FLYING by here. there is so much going on at the base and Caleb has been so busy. I have a handful of photos I want to share with you on the blog today and chat a little bit about how blessed we've been. a favoritve photo of mine of our family on vacation back when we first arrived.  Before we left God spoke to both Caleb and I about trusting and believing that this was going to be a time of blessing. As we thinned out our personal belongings, either selling them or giving them away, we did so believing and knowing that no matter where we end up now or in the future God was going to take care of our needs. when we hiked to a waterfall with baby A <3 So here we are 2 months down the road. Axels Dedication

Yesterday We had our sweet boy Axel Dedicated. For us as parents, dedicating our child represents a commitment both to God & to our son. For me it means I am giving back to Jesus a very precious gift he gave me. Entrusting my child in his hands, knowing fully he will take care of him, through the good and the bad. As parents its a commitment to guide Axel as he growths, to know Jesus as his personal savior, and encourage him to have a REAL and live friendship/relationship with Christ. It is also a commitment to Axel to always put him before ourselves and love him with the love that christ has shown us. That is a heavy decree. We make these promises, fully knowing we will fail at times. That we will struggle as parents, we may fight and disagree, we may have tough decisions to make or not even know what to do.
